Waakirchen: Burning tractor ignites fire in garage - 650,000 euros damage

Waakirchen – A burning tractor caused damage of at least 650,000 euros on a property in Waakirchen.

On Thursday (November 10th), around 1.30 p.m., the operations center of the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South reported a burning tractor on an agricultural property in Waakirchen.

"When the officers arrived, both the tractor and the adjacent garage were already fully engulfed in fire," the police said.

The Schaftlach fire brigade, which also arrived shortly thereafter, requested additional support from the surrounding fire brigades due to the rapidly spreading fire.

In the end, around 150 firefighters, the rescue service and several police patrols were deployed to fight the fire.

"People and animals were unharmed in the fire," the police said.

According to current estimates, the damage to property amounts to at least 650,000 euros.

The investigation into the cause of the fire was carried out by the Miesbach Criminal Inspectorate.
