Dozens of ultra-Orthodox and social activists are protesting in front of the home of Jerusalem Heritage and Affairs Minister Meir Frosh to protest his help to sex offender Berland. As first reported by Israel Hayom, Frosh sent a letter to the Ukrainian court to try to persuade them to allow Berland to enter Uman for Rosh Hashanah despite receiving a black visa that prevents him from entering the country.
Meir Sheetrit, brother of Nissim Sheetrit, who was murdered some 30 years ago by Berland's men, told Israel Hayom. "I'm here because Meir Frosh has been supporting this group since <> years ago. Strong and devout political support for the Jerusalem municipality, Beitar municipality and Elad.
Frosh's people would not have been chosen without them. And my message to Purush will come down from this issue because there is a force against it. The ultra-Orthodox Mi Tu began not so long ago. A year ago we were at the funeral of the greatest offender who everyone praised and then swallowed his tongue. The message to the ultra-Orthodox representatives is clear. Our representation is ours, not yours."

Rabbi Berland was refused entry to Ukraine due to a sermon he gave to his Hasidim in which he spoke about how Putin is a good man and that Ukraine is being occupied because it made it difficult for Breslov Hasidim to enter Uman on Rosh Hashanah.

Berland's remarks were published on the "Shavei Or" website, and the report on the matter had already been deleted, but not before it reached the eyes of senior Ukrainian government officials who sentenced Rabbi Berland: a black visa for three years.
