Premiere-goers in San Diego were in for a real surprise when Prince Harry suddenly appeared in person at the cinema for the premiere of his new Netflix documentary.
San Diego – Prince Harry's (38) and Meghan Markle's (42) Netflix project is not limited to the documentary "Harry & Meghan", which impressively reflects the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's view of the "Megxit". For a long time, Prince Harry had been working on the follow-up documentary "Heart of Invictus", which was scheduled as cinema screenings this week for US audiences. On September 9, the Invictus Games started in Düsseldorf, which is why completely surprised fans could hardly believe it when the son of King Charles III (74) suddenly addressed the audience personally at the microphone.
"What a show": Fans are completely thrilled by Prince Harry's cinema visit
"If it's a random Monday night and Prince Harry storms the premiere of his show in a random Chula Vista," the caption to the video read. In a reel shared by bonnie_pham on Instagram, Prince Harry can be seen talking to attendees at the premiere of "Heart of Invictus" at a movie theater in Chula Vista in San Diego County, California.
"What a show, what a man, what a special surprise! #heartofinvictus," she breathlessly commented on the experience, which apparently hit her completely out of nowhere. Incredulous, she also shows her equally surprised friend, who hung on Prince Harry's lips together with her, with astonished eyes and open mouth. At the end of the clip, bonnie_pham has managed to appear on a selfie together with girlfriend and Prince Harry.
Harry's Netflix documentary "Heart of Invictus"
A camera crew accompanied Harry and Meghan on their visit to the 2022 Games in the Netherlands. In a trailer for the documentary, Harry explains the project: "The games are not about the causes of the injury, but about recovery and how to become part of a community again."
The younger brother of the heir to the throne, Prince William (41), is an executive producer. The series is part of the Sussexes' multimillion-dollar deal with Netflix, whose main product so far has been the documentary "Harry & Meghan."
The series was announced more than two years ago and is published by Archewell Productions (founder: The Sussexes). The film is directed by British documentary filmmaker Orlando von Einsiedel (43) and produced by Joanna Natasegara, director, screenwriter and producer of documentary films, who worked with von Einsiedel on the Oscar-winning short film "The White Helmets".

The Duke of Sussex smiles mischievously into the camera and apparently enjoys the hype around him every second. According to information from hellomagazine.com, it was previously leaked that the father of two wanted to spend time with veterans in San Diego, but that he stopped by the screening could be a typical spontaneous action by the Duke of Sussex. In any case, he was warmly welcomed at the screening, the audience screamed and cheered when he presented his documentary as a surprise.
Ever since he initiated the Invictus Games in 2013, Harry has been passionate about the sporting event, which is becoming increasingly popular and for which even his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II (96, † 2022) did not miss the opportunity to advertise her grandson's favorite project in a funny spot. Prince Harry will travel to Germany next month to attend the games in Dusseldorf. Meghan will miss the opening ceremony but will join her husband Harry, who will spend his 39th birthday in Germany, shortly after the tournament begins.
