A terrible and momentous accident has occurred in Bavaria. Between an ambulance and a car, there has been a head-on crash.
Update from August 31, 12:35 p.m.: After an ambulance got into the oncoming lane and crashed into a car, the car is now undergoing a technical inspection. This was announced by the police headquarters of Middle Franconia to the BR. In addition, an expert goes back to the scene of the accident to take a closer look.

Geslau – Bad news from the Middle Franconian district of Ansbach. According to a press release issued by the Bavarian Red Cross on Wednesday afternoon, August 30, a serious and serious accident has occurred on state road 2250 near Geslau. Three people were killed and two others were seriously injured.
Serious accident between car and ambulance: Three people dead
According to the press release, which refers to the initial knowledge of the accident site, there was a head-on collision between an ambulance of the Bavarian Red Cross and an oncoming car. In the ambulance was an 89-year-old patient who succumbed to her serious injuries at the scene.
The two occupants of the passenger car were seriously injured in the accident and were "resuscitated on the spot by first responders and the rescue service," according to the BRK press release. However, one of the two died at the scene of the accident, the other a little later in hospital.

Ambulance driver seriously injured – but not in danger of life
The two occupants of the ambulance were seriously injured in the accident, but according to the press release, their lives are not in danger. They were taken by helicopter to a nearby clinic. How the accident could have occurred is now the subject of police investigations.

"In the midst of this tragedy, our condolences go out to those affected and their families. We are very moved by this terrible accident," said a spokesman for the Bavarian Red Cross, according to a press release. At the scene of the accident, the rescue workers were offered a field of rubble. "It is now also important to provide comprehensive psychosocial emergency care to all emergency services involved so that they can process what they have experienced," the BRK spokesperson concluded.
