A 51-year-old crashed into a semitrailer on the A7 near Oberthulba without brakes. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
Oberthulba – On Tuesday, August 29, 2023, a serious rear-end collision occurred on the A7 in the district of Bad Kissingen. This was announced by the Lower Franconia police headquarters in a press release. A 51-year-old man drove unbraked into a semi-trailer and died at the scene of the accident after the serious collision.
A7 in the direction of Ulm: 51-year-old races unbraked in semitrailer
The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday. According to the police report, the 51-year-old driver of a pickup truck was traveling on the A7 in the direction of Ulm. Between the junctions Oberthulba and Hammelburg, he had driven unbraked on a semitrailer in front of him. The exact cause of the accident is not yet known. The driver of the pickup truck was trapped in his vehicle due to the collision. He was so badly injured that he succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.

Motorway near Oberthulba closed for hours after rear-end collision
The van was severely damaged by the impact. The semi-trailer of the semi-trailer, on the other hand, was only slightly damaged. Currently, the police estimate the property damage at around 30,000 euros.
The highway had to be completely closed for the duration of the accident recording in a southerly direction until 09.30 a.m. In addition to the police, the fire brigades from Oberthulba, Bad Kissingen and Hammelburg were also on site, as well as the rescue service, an emergency doctor and the Oberthulba motorway maintenance department.
