Hürth – On the way to big money, the most important thing in "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" is to have as much general knowledge as possible. However, the fact that Günther Jauch's (67) quiz chair is then accompanied by excitement is something that a contestant has now had to experience first-hand. After a bumpy start and a lot of support from Günther Jauch, she was in danger of failing because of a supposedly simple "Harry Potter" question.

Harry Potter's Best Friend Ron Makes 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' -Candidate has a hard time

It wasn't until the end of last year that Günther Jauch and a "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" contestant on a "Harry Potter" question. Now the whole thing seems to be repeating itself. On January 15, 2024, Yvonne Speckhard is competing for 4,000 euros when the moderator asks her a question that she believes she can solve with links. "Harry Potter's best friend is always in, at least literally?" – A: Padua, B: Verona, C: Turin or D: Naples. For the millionaire contender, it's immediately clear: it has to be Padua. The reason: "Ron is always in a stalemate."

Günther Jauch, however, makes it abundantly clear to her that she is on the wrong track. The problem: The contestant just can't remember the name of Harry Potter's best friend. The audience joker is needed to create clarity. With 96 percent of the votes, the answer is Verona in first place. Only four percent were infected by the candidate and voted for A. Then the penny drops for Mrs. Speckhard, too. "Ahh, that's Ron – now I'll figure it out. Harry Potter's best friend is named Ron. Ron Weasley," she exclaims – and finally decides on VeRONa.

Not first aid: Günther Jauch has to support candidate beforehand

Because his candidate is visibly excited, Günther Jauch is happy to lend her a hand. The "Harry Potter" question isn't the first one where he's more than unequivocally hinting at the fence post. "If they start crying, I'll tell them the right answer," he jokes, but doesn't even wait for a crying fit. Instead, he gives his counterpart as many tips until the correct answer is actually logged in.

Only a short time later, however, the quiz show ends unscheduled – because due to a snowstorm in the USA, the NFL was postponed, forcing RTL to make program changes.
