After the discovery of a dead child in a car in Mittenwalde, Brandenburg, the mother has been provisionally arrested. This was announced by a police spokesman on Monday to the German Press Agency. According to initial investigations, the 40-year-old could be responsible for the death of the six-year-old boy.
Mittenwalde - The father of the family had reported his wife and their child missing on Sunday evening. Police, ambulance service and emergency doctor found the car early Monday morning on a small forest path in the Mittenwald district of Ragow. Inside lay the dead child and the woman. The 40-year-old was reportedly alive and receiving medical attention.
An autopsy of the body is scheduled for Monday afternoon. Subsequently, the public prosecutor's office will decide on the application for an arrest warrant, according to the police spokesman. Dpa
