A Missouri high school student is now facing criminal charges over a disturbing viral video showing her repeatedly wrestling and punching her 65-year-old teacher — sending her to the hospital.

A video that has amassed more than 2.5 million views on X (formerly Twitter) shows one of the teachers at Normandy High School in St. Louis, Missouri, lying on the floor, desperately trying to protect herself from the student standing above her and hitting her on the head constantly.

The high school student is seen continuing to punch and slap the teacher even when she manages to roll over her - and then she tightens the teacher between her legs as other students shout in the background, shocked by the brawl that broke out in the school hallway. The teacher is heard begging her to let her go, but the student refuses to let go.

The two continue to struggle on the floor until some of the students intervene and manage to separate the two. At one point, a teacher intervenes and shouts: "Stop! Stop!" when one of the students was seen pushing the angry student away from the hallway.

At the end of the segment, the student is seen having a seizure on the floor while handcuffed.

Students say the fight started when the teacher confronted the student about leaving the classroom and returning to pick up her bag. The teacher, Cheryl Rogers, told the student to wait — prompting the student to grab her bag and attack her. Some students claim that the teacher suspected that the student had taken medication from her locker. The pills were supposedly anti-seizure pills, according to Colin Ragg, co-owner of Trending Politics, one of the providers who shared the video.

However, the teacher's boyfriend, Greg Stanton, told KSDK that when he visited her in the hospital, she had no idea why she was attacked. "She was injured quite badly," he said of his partner who is still recovering from her injuries. She doesn't understand why she was attacked. She can't stop crying."

It is unclear whether the student was also hospitalized following the apparent seizure. St. Louis police confirmed to KSDK that they intend to file criminal charges against the unidentified girl in juvenile court.

A school governor told The Post on Friday that management is handling the incident: "We take this matter seriously and are fully cooperating with local law enforcement," the statement said, adding, "In addition, we have launched an internal investigation to gather all necessary facts surrounding the incident, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of these investigations."

"The safety and well-being of our students and staff is of paramount importance to Normandy Schools Collective, and our primary focus is to provide a safe and nurturing space for students to learn and for teachers to educate," he added.
