Terrorism in academic guise: IDF, Shin Bet and Border Police forces operated tonight (between Sunday and Monday) throughout Judea and Samaria and detained 17 wanted persons. The main activity focused on An-Najah University in Nablus.
Duvdevan reserve and Border Police fighters operated tonight under the command of the Samaria Brigade and under the direction of the Shin Bet in Nablus city and arrested nine wanted Hamas student cell operatives who were hiding there at An-Najah University, and detained many more suspects for interrogation.
The activity is part of the IDF and Shin Bet's effort to thwart the activity of terrorist squads composed of students in Hamas cells, the Islamic Wall, which operate in universities throughout Judea and Samaria. This is an unusual incident since IDF forces refrained from entering the university for years.

The detainees are part of the student council and slept in the prayer room there to protest the "tuition conditions" when in fact they use the university as a kind of city of refuge from the security forces and to disguise their terrorist activities.
In the city of Qalqiliya, in the Ephraim Brigade, the forces, together with IDF engineering forces, together with Civil Administration personnel, demolished two illegal homes of Hamas operatives – Bassem Daoud, a senior figure in the terrorist organization, and Saleh Daoud, who carried out two shooting attacks in 2015.
Tonight, the fighters detained five more wanted Palestinians in the village of Azbabda in the Menashe Brigade and located hundreds of thousands of shekels intended for terrorist activity in the Ephraim, Binyamin and Etzion Brigades.
