This Monday, January 15, a deterioration arrives from the Northeast in the form of light snowfalls. On the plateaus, the layer may reach 2 to 5 cm between the Ardennes and Lorraine. In the southwest, rains occur in milder air. On the island of Reunion, residents went into lockdown on Sunday night ahead of the arrival of tropical cyclone Belal, which could "mark the history" of the French island in the Indian Ocean with "devastating" winds and numerous river overflows.

Over the regions north of the Loire, a disturbance descending from the North Sea brings light snowfall north of the Seine as far as Alsace. Quantities will remain low. However, be careful in the morning in the face of the ice generated by these light snowfalls that fall on totally frozen ground. In the afternoon, sunny spells will return over the English Channel in cooler air.
From Aquitaine to the Pyrenees to Roussillon, rain falls throughout the day. These showers are temporarily sustained south of the Garonne, weak and scattered elsewhere. When in contact with cold air, a few flakes may appear in the Limousin.

In the morning, you will have to be wary of freezing fog from the plains of the South-West to the valleys of Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes as well as in the Saône valley.
