The Bavarian fashion house Rübsamen is insolvent: all branches will gradually close. Many employees are losing their jobs. Shops in the heart of Fürstenfeldbruck are also affected.
Fürstenfeldbruck – Some of you may have been following the news about the Rübsamen fashion chain: The company, which was founded around 1900 and is headquartered in Augsburg, is insolvent. 14 branches and around 100 employees are affected. However, not everyone is probably aware that this also applies to shops in Fürstenfeldbruck. After all, not everything that says "Rübsamen" is written on it where the Augsburg-based company is behind it.
Three branches in the heart of Bruck affected
The insolvency proceedings of the Rübsamen Group have been under self-administration since September. In addition to stores in Aichach, Augsburg and Dachau, among others, three stores in Bruck will also have to close. These are located at the prominent fashion corner on Dachauer Straße: The Street-One/Cecil-Store at Dachauer Straße 3 and directly opposite the Kult Store with the branch of S. Oliver.

As Marcus Vorwohlt, Managing Director of Rübsamen GmbH, tells Tagblatt, the shops in Fürstenfeldbruck will be open until the end of May. Other branches have already closed (Weilheim) or will close at the end of January (Schrobenhausen, Friedberg).
A total of seven employees are employed in the stores in Bruck, according to Vorwohlt. "Unfortunately, it was not possible to find an investor solution for the Rübsamen Group. However, a long-term and profitable continuation of the fashion retailer is not possible without an investor," the fashion house boss continues.
Assistance in finding a job
The management supports all employees in their job search, it says. "Some employees already have the prospect of new jobs, which is positive," says Managing Director Vorwohlt.

With the insolvency of the Rübsamen Group, another Augsburg company is closing down on the corner of Dachauer-/Augsburger Strasse in Bruck's city centre. In 2021, it became known that the Catholic Weltbild publishing house was insolvent. Since then, the branch right next to Kult Store has been run by the Munich-based publisher Hugendubel.
It is still unclear what exactly will happen to the two to three retail spaces on Dachauer Strasse from June onwards – S. Oliver and the Kult Store are connected by an imperceptible passage between the shops. It's clear that something is stirring in the fashion corner. A few house numbers further on, the boxes are being packed in a shop for home supplies and fashion at the Brunnenhof.
