After the attack by the US and Great Britain on Houthi positions in Yemen, the rebels had announced revenge. Now the U.S. military has once again repelled a missile.
Washington/Sanaa - The US military has again repelled a missile from the Yemen-based Houthi rebels in the south of the Red Sea, according to its own statements. The Houthis had fired the anti-ship cruise missile in the direction of a destroyer of the US Navy, the responsible regional command of the US military announced in the night via X, formerly Twitter. The missile was intercepted by the U.S. Air Force near the Yemeni coast of al-Hodeidah. There were no reports of injuries or damage.
Since the outbreak of the Gaza war between Israel and the Islamist Hamas, Iranian-backed Houthi rebels have repeatedly attacked ships with alleged Israeli ties in the Red Sea. Large shipping companies are increasingly avoiding the route. Because of the actions of the Houthis, the US and Britain recently attacked the group's positions in Yemen, supported by the Netherlands, Canada, Australia and Bahrain. Dpa
