Not all of them are yet known, but some of the lucky ones who will carry the Olympic flame at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games were unveiled on Monday by the Oise departmental council.

And there are already some great people in this first list, which gives pride of place to specialists in the equestrian world since we find Mario Luraschi, the famous horse trainer, who has put on a series of shows and participated in major film productions.

Or Yves Bienaimé, the creator of the Living Museum of the Horse and the Potager des Princes de Chantilly, a skilled rider who will surely be one of the oldest porters with his 88 springs.

Alongside Romain Carlier, the miraculous rugby player whose participation Le Parisien revealed on Monday, athletes who have marked the history of their discipline well beyond the limits of the Oise will also go a long way with the Olympic emblem.

Like the fencer Sophie Moressée-Pichot, gold medallist in the team event at the 1996 Olympics, the cycling champion Arnaud Démare, the sprinter Fabé Dia or Jean-Christophe Bette, the rower who remains the most successful in French rowing with an Olympic gold medal and six world championship titles, among other things.

"A dream for those who love sport and Olympism"

Ten communes in the Oise department (Compiègne, Margny-lès-Compiègne, Venette, Creil, Nogent-sur-Oise, Chantilly, Beauvais, Gerberoy, Breteuil, and Chiry-Ourscamp) will be crossed by the Olympic flame next summer. With a particularity for Compiègne, which will be involved in a collective relay with several carriers.

The President of the Archers Club, Philippe Bouclet, former President of the French Archery Federation, will be the captain of the collective relay alongside Guillaume Toucoullet, world No. 1 in para archery.

"It is an honour, a dream for those who love sport and Olympism to be the torchbearer and the crowning glory of my career as a leader," said Philippe Bouclet. I am proud to lead this team of torchbearers, chosen for their dedication. Sharing this moment with Guillaume Toucoullet is also a very powerful symbol. »
