Seefeld – A Schubert piano recital, a benefit concert and a jazz concert by the Joel Frahm Trio with exceptional jazz musicians from America. This is by no means all that the association "Culture at Seefeld Castle" has to offer in the first half of the year at Seefeld Castle.

Top-class artists from the fields of classical and jazz, cabaret and children's theatre make guest appearances at seven classical events, including three piano concerts, four jazz and two children's performances. The concert kicked off on Sunday with the Modern String Quartet, which performed Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" on the occasion of its 40th anniversary.

The pianist Hilda Huang, winner of the International Bach Competition, will make a guest appearance on Sunday, March 10, 18 p.m. In addition to Bach, she plays works by Liszt, Messiaen and Mendelssohn. On Saturday, April 20, 19 p.m., pianist Victor Nicoara will address "Busoni and his heroes" on the occasion of the anniversary of Ferruccio Busoni's death, playing Bach, Busoni, Liszt, Mozart and Sibelius.

At the start of the tour, as a kind of dress rehearsal, the musicians traditionally make guest appearances in Seefeld, including Korbinian Altenberger (violin) from Seefeld. "Young Hearts for Music" will give a concert on Sunday, June 9, 18 p.m., with winners of renowned music competitions. It is not only in the classical music sector that there is a lot on offer in 2024 in the castle. The Amelie Scheffels Quartet will play its first jazz concert on Sunday, February 18, 19 p.m. Scheffels, who grew up in Seefeld, is known for her very own arrangements, says Irene Straub from the association "Kultur im Schloss Seefeld".

Musicians of the New York jazz scene as guests in Seefeld

The singer Fiona Grond from Switzerland will be on stage at the Sudhaus on Saturday, March 16, 19 p.m., with Philipp Schiepek (guitar) and Moritz Stahl (tenor saxophone) and the program "Interspaces: Poesias". In 2022, Joel Frahm and his trio were guests, and it will be back on Sunday, April 7, 19 p.m. To hear him in such an intimate setting pleases Dr. Harald Müller, chairman of the association. With saxophonist Joel Frahm, "a veteran of the New York jazz scene", he announces bassist Dan Loomis and drummer Ernesto Cervini. Frahm is firmly established in the New York jazz scene, appears on more than a hundred recordings and has played with many jazz greats. The Philipp Schiepek Trio starts an "Attempt to Dream" in Seefeld. Irene Straub leaves no doubt that the audience will also succeed in this at the guest performance on Saturday, May 4, 20 p.m., announcing a sound painting of three exceptional jazz musicians with Henning Sieverts on bass and Bastian Jütte on drums.
