After 19 years, Judith Rakers is quitting as “Tagesschau” spokeswoman.
The journalist obviously finds it difficult to say goodbye.
Live on TV she gets very emotional.
Hamburg – Since 2005, Judith Rakers (48) has been working as a spokeswoman for the “Tagesschau” on ARD.
Now the journalist wants to close this chapter.
Such a farewell comes with a lot of emotions after almost 20 years.
In the live interview with her colleagues, the presenter fights back tears.
Decision to leave “Tagesschau”: Judith Rakers “made it really difficult for herself”
After her “Tagesschau” exit, Judith Rakers now has completely new plans.
Before she can devote herself fully to this, the blonde will moderate the news until the end of January.
In the “ARD morning magazine” on Wednesday (January 17th) the blonde talks about her farewell.
The presenters Till Nassif (53) and Anna Planken (43) switch live to Judith Rakers in the “Tagesschau” studio in Hamburg.
“I have a little tear in my buttonhole,” the 48-year-old notes directly in the conversation.
She then explains that the decision was by no means an easy one for her: “I really thought about it for a long time and made it really difficult for myself, but I just decided to take on completely new projects and free up time.”

When the moderators looked back with her at her first appearance on the “ARD morning magazine” on May 2, 2006, everyone involved became very emotional.
“We are already saying that we will miss you very much,” emphasize Nassif and Planken, to which Rakers can only respond with visibly emotion.
“Now let's close the window again so that Judith can collect herself a little,” they finally end the interview.
Judith Rakers will at least continue to be seen on the talk show “3nach9”.
But she has also experienced a few breakdowns, especially with the “Tagesthemen” – one of which was recently reported by colleague Caren Miosga (54).
