The administrative community (VG) will file a lawsuit on behalf of the municipality of Greiling with the Bavarian Administrative Court against the compulsory allocation of asylum seekers.

Not all councils agreed that this decision was the right one.

Reichersbeuern/Greiling – The community meeting decided on the procedure with a large majority on Tuesday.

Klaus Harrer, third mayor of Reichersbeuern, voted against it.

VG Chairman Dieckmann: “Pure formality”

“The information from the district office was that refugees would be assigned to us.

The district office doesn’t care how we accommodate them,” said Greiling’s mayor Anton Margreiter.

The fact that the allocation has not yet been made is due to the hailstorm at the end of August.

As a result, the allocation to the district was suspended.

New refugees are supposed to arrive this Thursday.

“The fact that the lawsuit is now going through the VG is a pure formality,” explained Reichersbeur Mayor Ernst Dieckmann, VG chairman.

In fact, there are two lawsuits, namely against the matter itself and against an interim order.

His counterpart Margreiter added that the municipality of Greiling would of course bear the costs of the procedure.

The contracts for the accommodation at Kranzer will soon be signed

The Greilinger town hall boss explained in detail where the anger came from.

In February 2023, his community offered the district a plot of land measuring around 2,000 square meters behind the photovoltaic system to accommodate refugees.

“From there, the asylum seekers could have reached the shops and offices on Flinthöhe within walking distance.” But this offer was not accepted for various reasons.

That is why a lawsuit has now been filed against the district office's actions, "since we have fulfilled our obligation to cooperate."

The opportunity has now arisen to accommodate refugees again at the Kranzer.

“If we can start operations there, we can withdraw the lawsuits,” added Margreiter.

Regarding the planned refugee accommodation at Kranzer, Dieckmann noted that the contracts for it had been signed recently.

“The building application has already been submitted.

Our goal is to be able to put the system into operation by the middle of the year.” In addition, the Reichersbeur town hall boss said that people will soon be approached as helpers, primarily those from the old circle of helpers.
