American rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested in the Dominican Republic, where he will appear in court on Thursday on domestic violence charges.
The rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernández, remains in a prison in the capital, Santo Domingo, where he was detained on Wednesday, authorities reported.
No further details about the case were immediately provided, and it was not clear if Hernandez had an attorney.

A judge is expected to decide Thursday whether the rapper will remain behind bars or be released on bail while the investigation continues.
The arrest is Hernández's latest brush with the law.
Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested at a beach hotel in the Dominican Republic in October after being accused of
assaulting a local music producer.
Hernández and his partner, a Dominican rapper known as Yailín la Más Viral, had recorded in the victim's studio.
Hernandez was also previously accused in the United States of using a violent gang as a “personal hit squad,” but avoided prison after testifying against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, who operate on the east coast of the United States.
In March 2023, he was attacked by several people at a gym in Florida.
