This is what happened to the deputy commander of the traffic office at a police station, who was caught by inspectors doing illegal fishing.

One day he went fishing in the area of Kibbutz Palmahim and an inspector of the Nature and Parks Authority, who was fulfilling his duties legally, suspected that, together with another person, the policeman was fishing illegally.
An argument developed between the policeman and the inspector, as a result of which the inspector called his co-worker to assist him in the investigation of the policeman and the other person.
When the police officer realized that he was expected to receive a fine of 700 shekels, the defendant threatened the inspector that if he insisted on doing his job, the defendant would also do his job, and would impose fines on him and his friend for traffic violations.
"If I accept the report... straight away he gets NIS 250 and 6 points..." said the policeman to the inspector of the Nature and Parks Authority.

The inspector did not give up on the policeman and turned to the police. The threatening policeman admitted to the indictment and was convicted of the offense attributed to him - abuse of authority given by virtue of his position.
The policeman claimed that the whole case was a mistake, a single mistake in his service.
According to him, he participates in major sports events regularly, he participates as a member of a strategic thinking team that conveys the policemen's thoughts to the military command, come up with ideas and solutions to prevent policemen from resigning from the army, and finally the accused apologized and asked the court to consider his financial situation.
The court ultimately decided to consider the police officer and settle for only a severe reprimand, even though the sentence stated: "The defendant's actions damage the image of the organization and result in damage to the public's trust in it. The police officer must not abuse the authority given by virtue of his position, except for the purpose of performing his duty. In his statements to the inspectors , lawful enforcers of the law, the accused sinned by making a connection between being a citizen who committed a crime, and being a police officer, who is not on duty, all of his statements are directed at the inspectors so that they will not perform their duties lawfully, otherwise they will receive a traffic report.
