Internal investigations are now underway in the case of the missing 83-year-old, where the police did not respond to several calls from witnesses.
The police are trying to trace the communication channels of the witness calls.
Karlsfeld - The Bavarian State Criminal Police Office (BLKA) is currently investigating the tragic case of the missing 83-year-old, who died shortly after being found in hospital.
As reported, the police did not respond to several calls from witnesses who had searched Waldschwaigsee that night and hoped for police support.
The woman was found near the lake the next morning and died in hospital that afternoon.
When the Dachauer Nachrichten asked the Munich police, the police found themselves in need of an explanation.
The case was handed over to Department 13 of the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office, which is responsible for internal investigations - if it is clear that police measures were not error-free.
Ludwig Waldinger, BLKA press spokesman, confirmed that the case is currently being investigated.
The current aim is to understand the communication channels on the day of the accident.
As reported, several callers informed the police on Monday evening, January 8th, after the missing 83-year-old was seen at Waldschwaigsee.
A group of private individuals searched the lake from 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., waiting for support from police helicopters or search dogs - in vain.
Since the Missing Persons Office was off work at this time, the operations center should have sent a patrol, as a police spokesman admitted last week.
The question is why that didn't happen.
The investigators are therefore trying to find out where the calls from the witnesses ended up.
In order to understand these paths, the neutral investigation was initiated at the BLKA - on behalf of the public prosecutor's office.
Afterwards, when the investigation is over, the public prosecutor's office receives the results, according to Waldinger, which are then evaluated and, under certain circumstances, returned to the investigators if something needs to be examined more closely.
This means that it will take at least several weeks until there is a result.
