The 2024 summer vacation could tear a big hole in some vacation budgets.
Nevertheless, many Germans don't want to let their fun be spoiled.
It's no secret that vacations can be very expensive again this year: inflation and the associated increased costs continue to have a tight grip on many regions.
In fact, there are some Germans who don't mind the high prices - and who have even planned a longer than average trip to expensive destinations, as the holiday home booking portal
HomeToGo
reports.
Summer vacation 2024 in a holiday home could be expensive
Based on previous searches,
HomeToGo
has identified the 100 most popular summer travel destinations for 2024.
39 of them turned out to be above average in price.
The most expensive summer travel destination for holiday home guests is the French capital Paris.
“The upcoming Olympics are likely to be a significant price driver here,” says Jonas Upmann, spokesman for
HomeToGo
.
On average, travelers pay 449 euros per night if they want to stay there in June and July.
However, July is more expensive with an average cost of 611 euros for an overnight stay.
Many travelers seem to want to accept the prices, as Upmann reports.

has determined.
The situation is similar on the popular holiday island of Mallorca, as travelers pay an average of 319.50 euros for one night and yet they want to stay for around eleven nights.
Other expensive destinations include Barcelona with an average overnight price of 336 euros and the Dutch municipality of Zandvoort with 303.50 euros.
