The environmental and animal rights associations Enpa, Lac, Lav, Leidaa, Lipu-BirdLife Italia, Oipa, National Federation Pro Natura, Wwf Italia, in a joint note attack the bill presented to the Chamber by Lega deputy Francesco Bruzzone (Lega), whose itersta starting in the Agriculture Commission.
For the associations, the proposal envisages "issuing the hunting calendar by law, preventing citizens from being able to appeal; eliminating any reference to the limit of the hunting season, so as to authorize hunting even in the delicate month of February; authorizing hunting seven days a week by removing the limit of three days and two days of hunting silence; introduce regional institutes from which to ask for advice instead of Ispra, implementing a sort of differentiated autonomy of the protection of huntable fauna; and, furthermore, decriminalize crimes, for example leaving the hunting license to those convicted of poaching crimes during the closed season".
"After the proposal of hunting at 16 years of age - the NGOs declare - and the related backtracking, a new reckless provocation comes from the parliamentarians-hunters, such as MP Bruzzone, whose contents are a sample of violations and irresponsibility".
"On the subject of hunting - the associations continue - Italy has long been a special observer of the European Commission, about to activate one or more infringement procedures after various investigations conducted. Well, despite this, an offensive signal is coming from the League and the pro-hunting parliamentarians" .
For the NGOs "it is really necessary that the Government, starting from the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the Minister of the Environment Pichetto Fratin, makes itself heard. They say sextanno with laws and nature or with illegality and guns".
