A 44-year-old man who, yesterday night in Novara, set himself on fire after a family dispute, in via della Riotta, in the suburban district of Sant'Agabio, is hospitalized at the CTO burns center in Turin, with a reserved prognosis. .
According to an initial reconstruction of the facts, around 11.30pm, after an argument with his wife, the 44-year-old, of South American origin, in the presence of his minor children, voluntarily set himself on fire.
In an attempt to put out the flames, the family members were slightly injured.
Once the alarm was raised, the firefighters and the 118 ambulances and a police car arrived on site.
At first it seemed that a gas cylinder had exploded in the apartment, then it emerged that it was a voluntary act.
The conditions of the 44-year-old immediately appeared serious to the rescuers, and the man was transported to the "Maggiore" hospital in Novara, where the decision was made to transfer him to Turin.
The forensic team then also arrived in the apartment to carry out investigations.
Investigations into the episode are underway by the Novara Police Headquarters.
