Günzburg – In a large-scale collection check in a discotheque in the Günzburg district, the Swabia South/West Police Headquarters seized a significant amount of drugs on the night of January 13th and 14th.

The emergency services arrived at the discotheque around 12:45 a.m. and checked the 165 people present.

Narcotics were found in 59 people between the ages of 18 and 47.

As a result, 55 criminal proceedings were initiated on suspicion of unlawful possession of cocaine, amphetamine, ecstasy, LSD and cannabis products.

In addition, four criminal proceedings were opened on suspicion of illicit trafficking in cocaine, XTC and amphetamine.

That same night, officers carried out searches in four properties belonging to four suspects in the Günzburg district, the Augsburg district and in Augsburg.

A further 51 grams of amphetamine were seized.

In the months before the inspection, the Burgau police station and the Neu-Ulm criminal police station had collected information that indicated regular violations of the narcotics law in the discotheque.

The overall head of operations, Chief Criminal Officer Willbold, commented: “The Swabia South/West Police Headquarters aims to take early and comprehensive action against recognizable hotspots of drug-related crime.”
