Now we can get started: The planning committee of the city of Freising has now launched the development plan for the Freising Clinic.

The master plan can be implemented.

Freising – It was a few years ago when the Committee for Planning, Building and Environment decided to draw up the Freising Hospital development plan in its 3rd amendment.

That was in 2018. The master plan, in which the urban planning concept for the development of the clinic site was defined, also comes from this year.

And this means that the Freising Clinic will have a completely new look in the coming years.

The central emergency care as well as the intensive care unit, the department for psychosomatics and psychotherapy, the palliative care ward and a new department for psychiatry are to be housed in a separate complex that is being newly built.

In addition, modern dormitories including underground parking and a daycare center are to be built (we have reported).

The aim is to make the clinic fit for the future.

In an FT interview last year, District Administrator Helmut Petz and Managing Director Maren Kreuzer spoke of an “immense renovation backlog at the hospital – structurally and technically” and also of the fact that the central emergency room and the intensive care unit in particular need more capacity.

All of this is now being done justice to with the implementation of the master plan, which the planning committee cleared the way for at the meeting on Wednesday.

The draft development plan was publicly displayed in October of last year.

No comments were received from the public.

At the same time, those responsible for public affairs were involved in the process and also commented on the project.

At the most recent meeting, the statements submitted were processed and minor editorial changes were made.

There were no serious objections.

For example, after a corresponding suggestion from the water management office, the drainage plan was revised and other small details were taken into account.

The city of Freising's representative for the disabled noticed that the development plan did not contain any information about the number and arrangement of the disabled parking spaces.

According to the administration, this is not part of the development plan process.

Nevertheless, they took note of the notice and responded to it: In the future, there will be a total of 14 disabled parking spaces in the clinic's new underground car park.

Main entrance will be central in the future

If the master plan is implemented, the main entrance to the Freising Clinic will no longer be accessible via a private path, as is currently relatively hidden, but will instead be centrally located on Alois-Steinecker-Straße.
