The impact must have been violent: a BMW crashed into the end of a traffic jam on the motorway near Holzkirchen on Friday evening.

No one was injured, but there was a long traffic jam.

- In the slow-moving traffic on Friday evening (January 19th) on the southbound motorway, a 75-year-old BMW driver from Munich was speeding.

Shortly before the Holzkirchen-Süd rest area, his car crashed into the rear of a Seat at high speed.

According to initial findings, everyone involved remained uninjured.

According to the highway police, the accident occurred around 7:30 p.m.

In heavy traffic, a 43-year-old from the Freising district had to brake his Seat; behind him, the 75-year-old from Munich realized this too late.

His BMW crashed into the back of the Seat at high speed.

There was extensive material damage to both vehicles; the police estimate the damage at around 30,000 euros.

The cars had to be towed away.

The Otterfing fire department and the Holzkirchen highway maintenance department were deployed to secure the accident site and clean the road from leaking fuel.

While the accident was being recorded and the two cars were being towed, the highway was only partially passable for about an hour;
