Starting with my program for the day.
I can have my mind absorbed by a movie I saw or a book I'm passionate about.
But let's be clear, most of my mornings are very “practical” because I have to get my son ready and take him to school.

The beauty routine that suits you?
I attach great importance to skin care.
I haven't always done it, but today it's definitely a priority.
I use retinol, apply a vitamin C serum, and wear sunscreen every day.
The best advice you've been given to have confidence in yourself?
I think it's about knowing yourself well and sticking to what works for you.
In the United States, we like to try things, follow trends, but I think the best thing is to have your signature look.
The smell that takes you back to your childhood?
Definitely the eucalyptus one, because there were a lot of them in California, where I grew up.
How does the new

It has this little tropical touch that immediately takes me back to summer.
And this, even if it's cold.

Yes, because I have the luxury of doing very different things.
I wrote a book (

, in 2022), I host a podcast called
High Low With EmRata
, I also have different projects in fashion, such as my swimwear line or the fashion shows for which I am requested .
All this leads me to meet different people, and I feel very lucky.
The misunderstanding that there is often about you?
Of course there must be plenty of them, but I don't pay attention to them.
We can't have control over what people think.

The last time you were proud of yourself?
Women know that being a single mother, who also works, is not always easy.
I am proud of myself when I manage to be on all fronts, present and involved in my son's life, but also in my professional life.
Getting up at 7 a.m. and accomplishing all my mommy tasks then moving on to interviews, taking care of my podcast before returning to my role as a parent... This requires real organization.

What advice could you give to a single parent?
I believe that we should not underestimate the importance of the environment in raising our child.
Of course he needs you above all, but confronting him with other people is really good for him.

Jane Fonda and Angela Davis are real inspirations to me.
Jane Fonda is the first to have shown so many different sides in the industry.
She's an excellent actress, an involved activist, and she lived through very different times.

And Angela Davis, because I would be curious to talk with this American feminist activist, whose voice carries without taking into account political correctness.
