Attorney Uriel Lin, former member of the Knesset, is retiring from his position as president of the chambers of commerce after 22 years. Elections for the presidency of the chamber will be held in April. This was learned by Israel Hayom.
Lin has been the head of the Association of Chambers of Commerce since 2002, and beside him is a limited management elected from a 22-member presidency, by the general assembly.
Lin began his first term as president of the chamber of commerce during Netanyahu's time as finance minister, they worked together in fruitful cooperation (even when he was chairman of the constitutional committee he worked in successful cooperation with Netanyahu who helped Lin pass the direct election law that included a term limit for the prime minister to two terms, but the Knesset canceled It).
Lin's main policy lines as president, throughout his 22 years: reducing the burden of regulation, preventing the committees from controlling the ports, creating absolute equality between all branches of the economy - eliminating selectivity, equal rules for all.
This policy is reflected in quite a few moves led by a dump: reduction of corporate tax, compensations in times of war (during the Second Lebanon War in 2006) for any business whatsoever and not only for industrialists as was practiced until then, the Standards Institute is not only under the control of the Association of Industrialists but a partnership together with Chamber of Commerce, massive lowering of protective tariffs.
The elections for the president of the Chamber will be held on April 9.
