A man and a woman from Afula, in their 50s, were killed today (Sunday) in a tragic accident on Highway 22 near the Bialik interchange to the north.
Apparently, the two stopped on the side of the road to repair a fault in their vehicle - then were hit by a passing truck.

The MDA team rushed to the scene found them lying unconscious, with multiple systemic injuries, and had to pronounce them dead. The police traffic accident examiners arrived at the scene and began investigating the circumstances of the incident.
MDA paramedic, Ofek Akraui, and MDA emergency medicine medic, Itay Mazor, said: "This is a very serious car accident, in which a man and a woman who apparently stopped on the side of the road to repair a fault in their vehicle, were hit by a truck on the spot. We saw the man and the woman lying at a distance from the truck when they Unconscious, without breathing and without a pulse, and suffering from severe injuries. We performed medical examinations but their injuries were severe and we had to pronounce them dead on the spot."
