In a race seen as particularly dramatic, even more so than the one held last week in the state of Iowa where Donald Trump won by an overwhelming margin, the state of New Hampshire will vote tomorrow in the Republican primaries for their presidential candidate.

Just before, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced his withdrawal from the race and his support for Trump.

Trump welcomed de Santis' support, saying she was a "great honor" for him.

"I look forward to working with him to defeat Joe Biden, the most corrupt president in the history of our country," the former president told Fox.

New Hampshire is the obstacle, among the few, that Trump faces on his way to receiving the official nomination for the presidency on behalf of the Republicans.

Nikki Haley, now left alone in the race against Trump, said she hopes to attract supporters from the de Santis camp to her side.

"These are people who love America, and they also want a new generational leader," she told CNN.

"We can win and that's what the supporters of Ron de Santis would like. They don't want to lose."

In Haley's opinion, both Trump and Biden are unfit for another term.

In recent days, Trump has attacked Haley twice and even chose to call her on his social network by her first name, Nimarta, probably to emphasize her Indian roots, but both times also disrupted him.

Nancy Pelosi called her yesterday, leading Haley to wonder if he is mentally fit to hold office.

Head to head with Trump

If he is defeated by Haley, the latter is expected to remain in the race and gain unprecedented momentum for her campaign.

Haley sees herself, and this is also evident in her campaign, as a head-to-head contender against Trump, even though according to the polls he is leading in many states.

However, if the latter wins, it will be the final chord for Haley, as her chances of leading the race will become slim to impossible.

According to an average of polls conducted by the ABC network, the two leading candidates in the country are Trump with the support of 48.9% of the voters and Haley who receives 34.2% support.

DeSantis, who is retiring, is out of the real race, as according to ABC only about 5% of voters will vote for him (5.2% average).

Although the gap between Trump and Haley is not small, in spite of this, in recent years, Trump's supporters have struggled to gather a majority in the country.

The reason lies in the fact that self-proclaimed "independent" voters are also allowed to vote in the primaries, which works in Haley's favor.

Another advantage to her credit is that in New Hampshire the population is defined as more educated than in Iowa, and many of its residents identify with her.

Arguments at the top

In the meantime, in recent days the reports about the candidates for the position of vice president alongside Trump have multiplied.

"She's a killer," Trump said of Elise Stefanik, a member of the House of Representatives from New York, during a private dinner for donors.

The former president, who was impressed by her appearance at a congressional hearing on anti-Semitism on campuses, was interested in appointing her as his deputy, NBC reported.

At the same time, when DeSantis was asked before his withdrawal from the race if he would agree to run for the position of vice president, he replied: "I will not run for the position of vice president. I am running for president because I want to make a difference."

According to him, his current position as governor of Florida is more influential than the position of vice president, which is "simply powerless, you just sit there (in the White House)," he was quoted as saying.

At the same time, in the recent election conferences, it seems that the mutual attacks between the president and his former ambassador to the UN have intensified.

"Haley is using radical Democrat money to run a radical Democratic campaign," Trump said.

He also added at an election rally in Manchester, the central city of New Hampshire: "The Democratic left supports Haley because they know that it is very easy to defeat her."

On the other hand, Haley questioned Trump's ability to serve as president, while the latter confused her with Nancy Pelosi in one of his speeches.

Trump attacked back: "A few months ago I took a cognitive test and I passed it. My abilities are stronger than 25 years ago."
