The “Tagesschau” moderators provide us with the most important news every day.
But how much do Jens Riewa, Judith Rakers and Co. actually earn?
Berlin – Every day at 8 p.m. sharp, the “Tagesschau” reports on current world events, reaching more than ten million TV viewers.
That's why the presenters are no longer just news anchors, but real celebrities with a large fan base.
But what does a “Tagesschau” speaker actually earn?
Jens Riewa, Judith Rakers and Co.: “Tagesschau” presenters are paid per broadcast
Good to know: Jens Riewa, Susanne Daubner, Judith Rakers, who recently announced that she is quitting as “Tagesschau” spokeswoman, and Co. are not permanently employed by ARD, but as freelancers.
“The speakers are freelancers who receive a fixed fee for a broadcast,”
t-online
quoted former “ARD-aktuell” boss Kai Gniffke as saying.
The “Tagesschau” presenters do not receive a fixed salary, but are paid per broadcast.
“For orientation: For the main edition of the 'Tagesschau' a speaker receives 259.89 euros.
“It’s significantly less for shorter ‘Tagesschau’ editions,” he revealed at the time.
“Tagesschau”: Judith Rakers on TV close to tears
After 19 years, Judith Rakers is quitting as “Tagesschau” spokeswoman.
The journalist obviously finds it difficult to say goodbye.
Judith Rakers gets very emotional live on TV.
Over 1,000 euros: This is what “Tagesthemen” moderators can earn per day
That doesn't sound like much at first, but since "several missions are possible during the day," the "Tagesschau" presenters end up with a nice sum.
It would happen that a speaker would be booked for up to seven issues a day.
In this case, the daily rate is just over 1,800 euros.
