The terrorists were sent by the Islamic Jihad, as part of a series of operations designed to torpedo the Oslo Accords, signed three years earlier.
The terrorist organization even claimed that a third bomb was supposed to explode, but the terrorist did not arrive.
After about a year, the charge was located nearby and neutralized.
After more than a decade, a memorial was erected on the spot with a metal sculpture of 22 figures ascending to the sky.
