Ingenried/district - On Wednesday, the first asylum seekers will move into the Gasthaus Schnitzer in Bernbeuren and the new thermal hall in Schwabsoien.

Both are emergency shelters.

16 people also arrive in Ingenried.

“We only count in buses, no longer in the number of people,” said District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß in November, when the number of asylum seekers and the need for accommodation were increasing.

Although the development, according to Bernhard Pössinger from the asylum and integration department of the district office, is currently experiencing a “winter dip”, another bus like this with 50 people will arrive on Wednesday.

Ingenried's mayor Georg Saur invited people to the on-site meeting at the former Gasthaus zur Sonne yesterday, Monday. Around 80 people from Ingenried came;

the atmosphere was interested.

“We all know that migration policy in the federal government is not the best,” said the head of the municipality with a view to Berlin.

Pössinger also saw it that way: “We’re spooning up the soup.”

But at the local level, things are what they are, says Saur.

Ingenried has recently grown by around 14 residents every year - on Wednesday alone "16 more citizens are added".

He is in favor of meeting these openly and without reservations.

They won't stay long; we were talking about a period of between four weeks and three months.

In its function as emergency accommodation, the old village inn serves as a transit station.

This use of the inn, which the community bought in the summer, is limited until the end of August.

After that there has to be another solution.

Past and present in the Gasthaus zur Sonne in Ingenried: Where there used to be celebrations, beds are now lined up close together.

The equipment is simple.

“Nobody is being pampered,” clarified Bernhard Pössinger from the district office;

one proceeds as economically as possible.

Pössinger anticipated the fact that the first arrivals on Wednesday were all young, single men from six different nations. He wanted something different for the start in Ingenried.

But he also made it clear: “There are scoundrels there, just like here.” Sometimes, of course, it’s human.

He meets “motivated people and some who don’t want to do anything.”

At all emergency shelters in the district, there is always one person from the security service on site, and two if there are 50 residents or more.

In many places, such as in the large Peitinger accommodation on Seestrasse with 140 people, the situation is quiet, Pössinger gave one of several examples of good experiences.

“It is counterproductive if they suggest that they are not wanted.”

Administrative court: No compulsory assignments in the neighboring district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

When it comes to accepting asylum seekers, the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district office and the local municipality of Greiling are at cross purposes.

The latter was granted an emergency ruling by the Munich Administrative Court on Friday: Obligation to cooperate yes, compulsory assignment no.

This is an interference with the right to self-government.

How does the Weilheim-Schongau district office classify this decision?

There was no escalation here like in the neighboring district, says Bernhard Pössinger from the Asylum and Integration Department.

There was a one-time threat of forced assignment - namely to Bernbeuren, where the Schnitzer Inn now serves as emergency accommodation.

He continues to build on the solidarity of the communities and the exchange with one another.

The collaboration is “very, very good”.
