Voters will not have to wait until 2026 to elect a new mayor in Garches.
They should be called to the polls after the thirteen remaining municipal councilors of the majority of Jeanne Bessentiel (LR) presented their resignation by mail.
The Hauts-de-Seine prefecture confirmed receipt this Monday evening.

The departure of a third of the members of the municipal council automatically triggers a new ballot which must be organized between six weeks and three months after confirmation of the vacancy of the municipal council in the Council of Ministers and in the Official Journal.
This should take place in the coming days.
