Argentine football is back.
This Thursday the
2024 League Cup
begins , which will have 28 teams seeking to win a title that Rosario Central won last December
.
The format will be the same:
two zones of 14 teams
, games against all and an interzonal classic, with the first four of each group qualifying for a playoff phase.
Recently, the
Professional League
announced the first six dates, an overloaded fixture, with weekdays, which will present
84 games in 27 days,
from January 25 to February 20.
A curiosity, during this period there will only be three days (February 2, 7 and 16) in which there will be no
First Division
football .
The seventh date, which will be played the last week of February, still does not have confirmed days and times but it is already known that it will be one of the most anticipated because it has all the interzonal classics, including River
vs Boca
, which will be played at the
Monumental
.
The calendar is so tight in this part of the year that, for example, on Monday, February 12, there will be matches at the end of date 4 and the start of date five.
The rush has to do with accelerating programming as much as possible in 2024, which in the middle of the year will have the
Copa América
forcing a stoppage.
