It is a vision of the future of mobility that moves in multiple directions, that of Suzuki which aims to differentiate its strategy.

The Hamamatsu company has in fact defined objectives and methods to reduce its carbon footprint by 2030, through the electrification of the range, but also by examining topics such as biofuels, hydrogen, batteries and their reuse, as well as with support for startups.

On the electrification front, Suzuki will introduce battery electric vehicles in fiscal 2024, with expansion into SUVs and B-segments, with 5 models to be launched by fiscal 2030 to address environmental regulations and consumer needs. customers in every European country.

For two-wheelers, the Japanese company will introduce an EV engine in the year 2024, for motor vehicles used for daily transport and 8 new models by the year 2030 with a percentage of EV engines of 25%.

As regards large leisure motorcycles, the adoption of zero-emission fuels is being evaluated.

Suzuki's strategy also embraces the world of boating, where it plans to launch 5 new outboard engines by fiscal year 2030, with a percentage of EV engines of 5%.

As regards high-power endothermic units, however, the Hamamatsu company is evaluating the possibility of adopting synthetic fuels, with zero carbon dioxide emissions.

Furthermore, Suzuki, together with 5 other private companies, which are part of the research association on biomass innovation for next generation fuels, is devoting great attention to the research of advanced biofuels, which will allow to reduce carbon emissions related to the use of traditional fuels.

In particular, the activities focus on efficient ethanol production systems, to produce second generation bioethanol, which does not compete with food;

on research to use the oxygen of by-products, such as that resulting from the production of hydrogen, and to exploit the Co2 that originates from the production of bioethanol;

in addition to the production of biogas derived from waste and organic waste from farms in the dairy sector.

Among the various collaborations promoted by the Japanese company, there is the joint venture with Toshiba and Denso with which it opened, in 2017, the first lithium ion battery production plant in India;

the one with Kawasaki, Honda and Yamaha, to explore the use of hydrogen as a clean energy source for vehicles;

the one with Lomby for the joint development of autonomous delivery robots;

and with innovative start-ups to promote innovation in the automotive sector,

and accelerate the adoption of advanced mobility solutions;

as well as the agreement with PowerX to help achieve a zero-carbon society through battery energy storage systems.

To go beyond the road, the company is exploring the field of flying cars.

SkyDrive and Suzuki have agreed to collaborate in business and technology areas that include technology research and development, mass and production system planning, development of overseas markets with an initial focus on India, and promotion efforts to achieve carbon neutrality.

Finally, Suzuki has invested in the research and development of technologies for space exploration by becoming a partner of the HAKUTO-R commercial lunar exploration program, in which it makes its proven technologies available for the construction of compact and lightweight cars.
