Ochsenfurt – In Ochsenfurt, Würzburg district, a 23-year-old was wounded in the leg by a police shot.
In the incident on Saturday, January 20th, the police officer also suffered a head injury, as reported by police on Sunday, January 21st.

The young man was originally supposed to be checked by the police, but he is said to have fled suddenly.
When a police officer caught up with him, a scuffle broke out over the officer's service weapon.
The 23-year-old is said to have tried to attack the police officer and grab the weapon, which he briefly held in his hands.
A shot was fired from the weapon, but no one was injured.

The injured person was then treated in hospital.
The police officer also sustained injuries as a result of the incident.
Due to the allegedly brutal attack on the officer, an investigating judge issued an arrest warrant against the 23-year-old on strong suspicion of attempted murder.
After his release from the hospital, he will be transferred to a correctional facility.
The State Criminal Police Office has begun investigating the legality of police use of firearms.
Just a few hours before the incident, the 23-year-old's car was supposed to be checked on the highway, but he escaped again.
According to police, an outstanding arrest warrant and lack of a driver's license were the reasons for his escape.
