Despite a history of heart problems, she shared, his two-day hospitalization and death came as a surprise.

His career on the television and film screen, which spanned almost five decades, starting in the 1970s with the series "Eight is Enough", "Starsky and Hatz", "Police Woman" and "The Incredible Hulk" and later in series such as "Detectives at Night" and "The Dukes" From Hazard".

Alongside a career on the small screen and in film, Graham was also a musician and was a member of three bands in his lifetime.

In 1989, he was cast in a role that would become the most recognizable in his career, Detective Matthew Sykes in the series Alien Nation, which although survived for only one season, continued with him in the five sequels in the series.

"It is with deep sadness that I announce that Gary Graham, my ex-husband and the father of our only beautiful daughter Haley, passed away today," Graham's ex-wife Suzanne Lovell paid tribute in a post she shared with her Facebook followers on Monday.

"We and especially Hayley are heartbroken," she added and told Love that she met Graham when she was 20 and he starred in the series Alien Nation.

"He was funny with a wry but kind sense of humor, fought for what he believed in and was a devout Christian who was proud of his daughter. His death was sudden so please pray for Hailey as she tries to navigate this thing called grief," she asked and added to the conclusion: "Fly high to the sky Gar, thank you for our journey together, the gifts you left me in the game, my love for horses and most importantly - our daughter."
