A 40-year-old man was arrested and then placed in police custody this Tuesday in Lisieux (Calvados) after stabbing an individual,

The victim tried to intervene during an argument between a couple and was stabbed in the neck by the partner, the prosecution further specifies.

A simple evening stroll that turned into a nightmare.
It was around 10:30 p.m. this Tuesday when a 48-year-old man and his cousin were walking in a neighborhood of Lisieux.
The two men stopped when they heard screams coming from the street.
In front of them, a couple arguing violently with a young child in the middle, continues Delphine Mienniel, prosecutor of the Lisieux court.
As the tone rises and to prevent the altercation from boiling over, the man intervenes between the child's parents.
The spouse then stabs the individual in the carotid artery, details the prosecution, adding that the victim dies from his injury a few minutes later.
Quickly arrested, the perpetrator was placed in police custody in Lisieux, explains Delphine Mienniel.
