“A jury that reflects our times”

Achilles Ion Gabriel, the Finn who holds the reins of the creative line of Camper (Camperlab), is nominated for the presidency of the accessories prize.

He has just launched his own clothing brand, the first collection of which was presented in January at the Pitti Uomo trade fair in Florence.

He too is one of these young creators with a huge following

 ,” continues Jean-Pierre Blanc.

To complete the team, Spanish photographer Coco Capitan, who collaborates with the biggest luxury houses, will chair the photography prize.

The Hyères Festival takes place each year in the commune of Var, where 10 finalists are selected by category (fashion, photography and accessories).

It’s a place for creative encounters where different arts mix.

The choice of the jury is always important, because it must best reflect our times

 ,” continues the general director.

Last year, fashion designer Charles de Vilmorin awarded the grand prize of the first vision jury to Igor Dieryck, who also won the Chanel 19M Métiers d'art prize and the public prize.

The young Belgian had proposed a collection inspired by his job as a receptionist in a large hotel where he liked to observe silhouettes passing by in the hobby.

The festival, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025, draws its prestige from these great fashion personalities who, over these multiple decades, have joined the jury, from Martin Margiela (1992) to Azzedine Alaïa (2005), including John Galliano (1991).

A boon for young creation.
