The National Jailer Investigations Unit (YAHS) in Lahab 433, today (Wednesday) began an investigation of several jailers who allegedly attacked a detainee at the beginning of this month at a detention center in Jerusalem. The detainee, Meir Kadosh, complained through his lawyer Efraim Demari, about the severe violence he suffered at the hands of the jailers while incarcerated in the facility



Meir Kadosh, a 31-year-old resident of Kiryat Arba, was arrested by the police on January 4 on suspicion of stealing ammunition from a military post in the city of Hebron, on New Year's Eve

In his investigation, he claimed that while traveling in Hebron he noticed an abandoned military post, and a mag rifle sticking out of it.

So, Kadosh called an officer in the IDF who instructed him to put the weapon in a secure place. Later, Kadosh claims, he tried to contact a series of authorities in order to return the weapon to his possession without success.

A few days later, Kadosh was arrested by the Hebron police station and his detention was extended from time to time until his release a few days ago.

In the meantime, the prosecutor's office summoned Kadosh and his defense attorney for a hearing before filing an indictment.

Every complaint about an incident of violence is investigated by the Warden Investigations Unit with full cooperation."



In another case of violence, Sdot Station investigators arrested six inmates suspected of being involved in an attack on two other inmates at Hadrim Prison. One of the victims of the attack was taken to Meir Hospital in a minor condition, and the other He received medical treatment on the spot. The arrest of the suspects was extended until Sunday.
