Against the background of the reports of an outline being formed for a deal between Israel and Hamas, the minister and member of the cabinet sent a letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu • "Many and dangerous question marks hover over such a deal" • Ben Gabir: "For the return of the abductees, against a bad deal"

Against the background of the reports, and despite the denials - the political pressure on Netanyahu is increasing:

Finance Minister and Cabinet member Bezalel Smotrich is demanding this morning (Wednesday) to convene the Cabinet immediately, this after the announcements of progress in negotiations for a deal between Israel and Hamas that would include, among other things, a halt to the war.

"A long stoppage of the war is a dangerous step," said the Minister of Finance.

This, against the background of the Reuters report that Israel and Hamas agreed on a one-month truce, but disagreements remained on other issues.

However, a political official told "Israel Today" that in Jerusalem they do not know of any progress on the issue.

Smotrich sent a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu: "In light of the reports in the foreign press about a deal being formed with Hamas with the approval of the War Cabinet under which the war will cease for a full month at the very least, I demand that the Cabinet be convened immediately in order to receive clarifications.

"Stopping the war at such a sensitive security and political stage could endanger the entire campaign and entail very heavy prices in the Gaza Strip and on other fronts. Many and dangerous question marks hover over such a deal. Stopping the war at this stage for a long period of time is something we cannot allow.

"We promised to bring victory. We promised it to the citizens of Israel, to the reservists and their families, to the families of the abductees, and to the whole world. We should not jeopardize the ability to realize this promise, which is a condition for the security of millions of Israeli citizens and the existence of the State of Israel."

Another cabinet member who came out against a deal in the famous outline is Smotrich's former partner, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gabir, who tweeted this morning on the X account: "For the return of the abductees, against a bad deal."

Ben Gvir also said this week, as I recall: "If there is no war, there is no government."
