The CEO of NATA (Urban Transport Routes), Haim Glick, informed the company's board of directors today (Wednesday) of his decision to end his position at the end of May 2024, after four and a half years in his position.

A government source told "Israel Hayom" that Glick "had a bit of a conflict with Regev (Minister of Transportation, S.O.) and probably the board also put some pressure, but I think it's really mainly his decision."

The NTA company clarified in response that "the CEO was not fired and far from it. His relationship with the board of directors, and especially with the chairman of the company, is an example of cooperation and mutual respect.

Chaim saw the red line as a life project which he successfully completed.

The war postponed his decision and also the desire to make sure that the line works properly."

As CEO of the company, Glick led the completion of one of the largest and most complex projects carried out in Israel - the red line of the light rail in the Tel Aviv metropolis, which has been operating since August 2023. Also, during his tenure, the network of light rail lines in Gush Dan was significantly promoted: the green and purple lines, which are in the works above The land and under it along a route of 67 kilometers in Gush Dan. Another significant achievement of Glick was recorded in 2023 with the completion of the financial contract with the concessionaires of the two aforementioned lines.

The planning of the three "metro" lines, which are supposed to be an even bigger infrastructure project, has also progressed significantly: most of the statutory plans for the metro route have been completed and approved, three international groups have been selected, which began their work in managing the detailed planning of the lines, and will later be responsible for their execution.

The company's announcement states that "Glick's tenure was characterized by a dramatic growth of the company - from a company managing a project to establish one Rakal line, to managing a railway network over about 250 kilometers above and below ground.

The company's operations and the scope of its work have grown in an unprecedented way."

"It's time for a shift change"

"I have been privileged in my decades of professional activity to be a partner in building this country, in maintaining its values in its development and prosperity, with the personal and public peak, without a doubt, being the successful opening of the Red Line in Gush Dan," said Glick.

"Now I feel that the time has come for a change of shifts. I am finishing more than four and a half years of challenging activity in the NTA that brought and will bring about the much needed transportation revolution in Gush Dan, a change in the utilization of the time of the citizens of the country that is wasted in traffic jams, and in the promotion of equality between all parts of the population."

Attorney Mia Lakvarnik, chairwoman of the NTA, said: "I accepted with regret the decision of the CEO of the company to terminate his position... Haim's vigorous activity, together with hundreds of dedicated company employees, resulted in impressive achievements on any scale. The company Under his leadership, it grew and developed and qualified itself to bear the challenging burden of continuing the successful operation of the Red Line, completing the two Rak'el lines and building three metro lines at a total cost of over NIS 200 billion for the well-being of passengers in Israel."
