An emergency motion is likely to lead to heated debates in the Bavarian state parliament today.

It's about the AfD's plans to specifically harm State Parliament President Aigner.

Munich - You don't see such unity across the parliamentary groups very often in the state parliament: "Resolutely oppose targeted attacks on the democratic order of the Free State of Bavaria and its constitutional bodies!" ) should employ.

It is made by members of the CSU, Free Voters, Greens and SPD.

The initiative came from CSU parliamentary group leader Klaus Holetschek.

It fits into the picture of the last few days in which thousands took to the streets in Bavaria.

AfD state deputy Böhm thought out loud about damaging Aigner

The addressee of the application is the AfD.

The background: In the course of the discussion about the controversial MP Daniel Halemba, State Vice President Martin Böhm stated that it was desirable to damage the President of the State Parliament Ilse Aigner (CSU).

Böhm internally considered whether a spectacular arrest of Halemba in the state parliament could be an advantage for the AfD.

When Holetschek later asked parliamentary group leader Katrin Ebner-Steiner to distance herself from Böhm, there was no response.

Halemba is sticking to his mandate despite a decision to the contrary at the AfD state party conference.

Yesterday, the Würzburg regional court lifted the arrest warrant against him, which had been suspended against conditions.

During the investigation into suspicion of sedition, there is no longer any risk that Halemba could manipulate evidence or influence witnesses, it said.

“Such efforts are an attack on the basic order of the state, as it is firmly anchored in the Basic Law and the Bavarian Constitution.”

The state parliament will “oppose anti-constitutional efforts early and decisively”.

It was a “shabby attempt” by Böhm to discredit the President of the State Parliament through “targeted productions”.
