During the GDL strike, travelers in Bavaria continue to use “Go-Ahead” trains.

But because the employees at the signal boxes are also on strike, nothing works in many places in the Allgäu.

Munich - The rail chaos is expanding: So far, during the GDL strike, travelers in Bavaria could at least rely on trains from the operator Go-Ahead to continue to run.

But that's over now: at least in the direction of Allgäu, numerous trains are canceled.

As the Go-Ahead customer service informs upon request, nothing works between the Buchloe and Memmingen stops.

The reason for this: The dispatchers who control rail traffic at the signal boxes belong to Deutsche Bahn - and are therefore on strike.

Because of the GDL strike: Go-Ahead-Bayern rail traffic in the Allgäu is at a standstill

“We drive where we can drive,” a Go-Ahead press spokesman told our editorial team.

For example, if you search in the DB Navigator for a connection from Munich Central Station to Memmingen, as of Thursday afternoon, January 25th, most trains will say: “Connection is canceled”.

They are already working on setting up a replacement service, but are still waiting for confirmation from the partners.

In some cases, an SEV with buses has already been set up between Buchloe and Memmingen.

According to the DB app, a bus runs on this route every two hours at 1:20 p.m., 3:20 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. - in the opposite direction at 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Before starting your journey, train passengers in Bavaria should ideally find out about their connection on the operators' apps or websites during the strike.
