The Starzelbach in the area of the Lower Mill in Alling is to be upgraded.
This is a wish of the three fishing tenants.
Alling - So-called disturbing stones and rhizomes should be introduced into the stream bed in order to improve the habitat for the fish that live there.
The community could receive funding of up to 90 percent of the costs for the project.
The water law permit is available.
The local council should now decide on the award of the contract - but some council members criticized the fact that they had only now found out about the project.
It was feared that the measures could have a negative impact on the flash flood risk management approach.
“That’s not okay,” said Hans Schröder (ABV).
The administration should have presented the project to the committee.
His parliamentary group colleague Andreas Lang also criticized the administration's approach.
He worries that the renaturation could conflict with flash flood management, or more precisely that the water would then no longer be able to flow properly.

The measure was coordinated with the water management office - and the flood areas were taken into account.
The stones and rhizomes would be placed in such a way that they do not hinder the flow - even at higher levels.
The measure is based on the water development concept.
Hubert Winkler (SPD) also criticized the lack of information.
He also said: “Measures for waters flowing into the town should have priority, not those flowing away.” Hans Ludwig (DG Biburg-Holzhausen) would also have liked to know more about the project in advance, but said: “In principle, there is nothing against it, something for it to make the fish.
These aren’t mega interventions either.”
Mayor Joachimsthaler agreed to present the entire measure to the committee - once the funding was approved.
The costs for the project are estimated at around 26,500 euros.
