A 10-year-old girl was raped and killed in a children's home in Wunsiedel in April 2023.
Now the case is going to court.
Wunsiedel - The case caused horror far beyond the region: After the rape and death of a ten-year-old girl in a children's home in Wunsiedel, Upper Franconia, the case begins to be dealt with in court - but the process also means a new burden for the residents of the home.

After the crime, a 25-year-old will stand trial from February 1st
A ten-year-old girl was found dead in the children's home in Wunsiedel in April 2023.
The investigation revealed that it had been abused and then killed.
A 25-year-old will now stand before the Hof regional court next week from February 1st on charges including rape and serious sexual abuse of children.
An 11-year-old believed to be responsible for the girl's death will not be prosecuted because of his age.
The boy is said to have strangled the girl during an argument that same night.

A crisis team looks after the children who live in the Upper Franconian home
After the girl's death, a crisis team was set up to provide intensive care for the children in the home.
“While the past few months have been about regaining a normal life, making everyday life, school and leisure time unencumbered, tackling projects, lovingly setting up and maintaining a place of remembrance and remembrance, the children now need a close-knit network again Care that fully responds to their needs,” said the child welfare service.
