Tu Beshvet, Rosh Hashanah for Ilanot, expresses the special bond between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel, and allows us to stop for a moment the race of life and observe the wonders of nature - the flora and fauna around us. Mass plantings, 10th Tu Bashvet ceremonies and a variety of activities for the family in forests and parks across the country.

This year, due to the security situation and the ban on mass gatherings, KKL-Junk decided not to give up the unique Israeli experience and is bringing it into the cities and towns.

All of this happens with a special truck, the KKL-Junk's Joy Truck that will pass between January 21 and January 30 from north to south and will make the people of Israel happy in hospitals, nursing homes, military bases, hostels, educational institutions, city centers, settlements and more. In the program: Singing together on a musical stage with the best songs of the holiday and Eretz Yisrael, participation in the KKL-Junk quiz and distribution of gifts to the participants.

Among other things, the KKL-Junk truck will arrive in the Western and Northern Negev settlements as well as Ramat Yishai, Tirat Carmel, Tivon, Kiryat, Afula, Tiberias, Acre, Nahariya, Ma'alot, Emek Hula, Safed, Lod, Ramla and the Modi'in region, Beit Shemesh, Jerusalem and the Sharon area.

"KKL first operated the truck of joy during the Corona period due to the ban at the time on mass gatherings and it is returning this year against the background of the security situation and the war of iron swords," says Leah Padida, director of the public and community relations department at KKL-Junk.

According to her, "The truck will arrive at hotels where the evacuees from the north and south are staying, old people's homes, hospitals, IDF bases and, in general, mass gathering centers.

We will bring the Tu Beshvat experience to them. For this purpose, we have converted a large transport truck into a "green" truck with a musical operator, creative corners for children, distribution of seedlings, dried fruits and more. The activity will take place over nine days equally between the north, the south and the center of the country." .

She further adds that "during the 10th year of the tribe, we plant the trees of tomorrow, we plant the future and hope, and we raise the open spaces and forests to a miracle, and sharpen the interrelationship between the tree and man.

That is why it is very important to us that people know the value of forests and trees.

Whether it is a child, a soldier or

an elderly person, when each of them plants a seedling with both hands, he connects to the earth.

This year especially, the planting of the trees has the meaning of revival and regrowth."

Are there planting ceremonies this year?

"Unlike normal years when thousands of people come to plant trees in parks and forests, this year we are also performing such ceremonies, but in a much more limited way with only dozens of participants. For example, we held a ceremony to plant the "Way of Heroes" in Ofakim Park in which 20 leading women took part, who saved lives during Shabbat of the 7/10, including civilian women, volunteering and wearing uniforms. We also held a special planting in the Reim forest, in memory of the Nova party victims, and more."

In addition to all of these, this year KKL-Junk will hold over 160 Tu Beshvat Seders and will also hold 'Taste and Go' events where trees can be planted without registration and without payment in the Gilat Forest, the Elikim Forest and the Ben Shemen Forest.

In addition, there will be experiential sessions as part of the 'Nursery Celebration' events (in Eshtaol, Golani and Gilat nurseries) where the participants will get to know the life course of the seedling from the collection of the seeds to its departure from the nursery to the forest.

"At the end of the day, when you plant a tree, you know it's for generations and that's what we need today, to inspire hope among the public. It's important for the entire population, and this year especially, among the elderly who can't go out and are on the conflict line, among the evacuees from the north and the south and among the soldiers and the wounded in my homes The patients. These activities are important and strengthen both them and their families, and therefore this year we will bring the Tu Beshvet experience and our special connection to the Land

of Israel, to them."
