Actually, the deal was already in the bag.

But then the saleswoman took full risk and caused a surprising turnaround in the dealer room at “Cash for Rares”.

Pulheim – In the ZDF junk show “Bares für Rares”, the married couple Inge and Thomas Bäder provided a premiere that has never happened in eleven seasons.

With an Austrian gold coin, they narrowly exceeded the expertise price in the dealer room.

When Thomas Bäder agreed to sell, his wife Inge unexpectedly took full risk.

She whistled her husband back and got a top deal.

“Cash for Rares” sellers delight with gold coins

During the expertise, moderator Horst Lichter (62) and art historian Heide Rezepa-Zabel (58) were enthusiastic about the flawless condition of the piece of jewelry.

It was a quadruple ducat with a double eagle - an heirloom from Inge Bäder's mother.

The souvenir was ultimately valued at between 1,000 and 1,100 euros.

Satisfied with the evaluation, the couple from Donaueschingen went to the dealer room.

The gold coin also met with great interest there.

“I'm always delighted when I see the Austrian double-headed eagle,” said art dealer Wolfgang Pauritsch (51) enthusiastically about the rarity on offer and opened the bidding war with a starting bid of 500 euros. The other dealers also showed keen interest and started asking each other to trump.

“Cash for Rares” deal takes a surprising turn: saleswoman holds man back

When Wolfgang Pauritsch exceeded the expertise price with his highest bid of 1,150 euros, Thomas Bäder immediately agreed to the deal.

“That would be great!” said the salesman and was about to go to the dealer’s counter at Pauritsch’s request when Inge Bäder whistled him back.

“Are you quiet!” his wife whispered to him, hoping to get more out of it.

But Inge Bäder's intervention did not go unnoticed by the traders.

“We haven’t had that yet,” said Pauritsch, amused.

Meanwhile, his colleagues used the interrupted trading as an opportunity to beat the final price again.

In the end, Pauritsch had to admit defeat to dealer Julian Schmitz-Avila (37) and gave him the top deal for 1,200 euros.

This also achieved the desired price that Inge Bäder had secretly hoped for.
