The US has created a special communication channel, through which it receives from Israel information about incidents in which Palestinian civilians have been killed or civilian facilities have been attacked - so reports Reuters based on a conversation with two American officials.
According to the report, the channel was established earlier this month, following a meeting of Defense Secretary Anthony Blinken with members of the War Cabinet.
During the meeting, Blinken voiced concern in the face of the "constant reports" of Israeli attacks that caused large casualties or damaged civilian facilities.
Blinken asked to build a special communication channel where the US could inquire with Israel about sensitive events. Since then, the US has brought up every problematic incident on the new channel.
According to a senior American official, in some cases Israel admitted mistakes, in others it provided information that was not visible before.
