A search team from Poland may have found parts of the mini-asteroid that fell over Brandenburg.

A group of four meteorite hunters discovered three pieces, Lutz Hecht from the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin told the German Press Agency on Friday.

The “Spiegel” first reported.

Nauen - “We have seen photos that are promising,” said Hecht.

“We assume that this was a stroke of luck and is one of the largest pieces lying in the stray field.” It is possible that it was an object that broke into three parts.

The museum team wanted to examine the find.

A photo was circulating on X - formerly Twitter.

The exact location was initially unclear.

The searchers were traveling west of Nauen (Havelland district).

Numerous researchers are looking for potential meteorites.

A team from the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the Museum of Natural History and the Free University of Berlin has been in the field since Sunday.

The tiny asteroid 2024 BX1 burned up near Berlin on Sunday night.

The fireball could be seen from far away in the sky.

The US space agency Nasa had announced it for Sunday morning near Nennhausen in Havelland.
